3 Classic Birding Destinations - Palenque & Tikal National Parks/Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary    3 Emerging Birding Destinations - Laguna del Tigre National Park, St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park & Yaxha Archeology Site

This is a new itinerary taking advantage of the relatively new border crossing of El Ceibo between Chiapas & the Peten, just 45 minutes from Palenque. Besides some amazing birding, the backdrop on this trip is quite spectacular - some of the best Ancient Maya archeology sites. We're very excited to be including Laguna del Tigre and the Las Guacamayas Research Station/ecotourism nirvana! There is a great mix of well-known birding destinations with emerging areas. We will be utilizing local guides with our expert leadership to help advance the local birding expertise and, as always, learn about local customs & culture. We will wrap this up near the Caribbean coast of Belize with St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park (south of Belmopan, not the marine site) & the classic birding destination of Crooked Tree. Fantastic route for regional endemics!
